Leeds Rhinos women celebrate Challenge Cup triumph 2019 PA 678x381 - Abandoned women’s game between Leeds and York will not be replayed

The abandoned Women’s Super League match between Leeds and York will not be replayed.

Rhinos star Sophie Robinson suffered a serious leg injury in the act of scoring her third try and the game was abandoned.

Leeds were leading 30-0 at the time of Robinson’s injury and this will be recorded as the final score after the Rugby Football League reached its decision following consolation with the respective clubs.

In the RFL operational rules on abandoned games, it states that if a match is abandoned with more than three-quarters of the playing time elapsed, the result shall stand unless otherwise determined by the RFL.

If less than three-quarters of the playing time has elapsed then the RFL, at its sole discretion, may order a game to be replayed.
