‘Could be our Memphis Depay’: Some Arsenal fans want swap deal for player that has impressed Chris Smalling

Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Roma winger Justin Kluivert and the Netherlands international could be included in a deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan this summer – and Gunners supporters have reacted on Twitter.

Mkhitaryan, 31, is currently on loan at Roma and after a difficult start, he is beginning to win over management and the fans. Indeed, Roma now want to keep him – but there is no permanent deal in his current loan contract.

His six goals and four assists in 17 Roma appearances has even seen the former Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund star leapfrog Kluivert in the Roma pecking order. A fringe player at Roma, Arsenal are keen on Kluivert.

Italian outlet CalcioMercato have claimed that Arsenal are keen on 21-year-old Kluivert, who has scored seven goals for Roma this season. Certainly, Kluivert is a top talent – and has impressed Manchester United loanee Chris Smalling.

“I think with [Nicolo Zaniolo] and Kluivert on either wing we’ve got a lot of attacking talent and can do some damage and score some goals,” Smalling was quoted as saying by Business Insider. But he could now be on his way to the Emirates.

The report claims that Kluivert could be included in a player-plus-cash deal to sign Mkhitaryan, in which Arsenal would offer Roma a decent figure of cash and Mkhitaryan to sign Kluivert – with Roma unable to spend money on Mkhitaryan.

Arsenal supporters reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Kluivert could be pulling on the red and white shirt of the north London club next season – and many have urged Gunners chiefs to complete a swap deal.
