In recent weeks, there have been many rumours about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future. The Swede’s contract with AC Milan will expire at the end of the season and there haven’t been any renewal talks yet.

During the lockdown in Italy, the 38-year-old was in Sweden with his family, training with local side Hammarby to stay in shape. He also owns 25% of the club, which has sparked rumours of him potentially finishing his career there.

However, Milan shouldn’t lose hope completely. It seems like Ibrahimovic is willing to play one more season in Italy, meaning the ball is in the Rossoneri’s court to convince him. Despite the imminent youth revolution, he could be of use to the team.

Speaking live on Canale Europa, as cited by MilanNews.it, Gazzetta Dello Sport journalist Carlo Laudisa was asked about the situation. As he sees it, the parties intend to continue together for next season as well.

“I have the feeling that Ibra wants to stay and that Milan are also moving in this direction. I believe that Ibra’s mystery will be solved before mid-July, one way or the other,” he concluded.
