Former Manchester United midfielder Kleberson believes Romelu Lukaku would be a huge loss if he leaves the club this summer, though the Brazilian backed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to get the very best from Marcus Rashford.
Lukaku is attracting interest from Inter Milan and other Serie A clubs and is understood to be keen on a United exit. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, however, has revealed that he’s spoken to the striker, with the Reds yet to receive a bid for Lukaku as it stands.
But with United handing a new bumper contract to Rashford last month, the suggestion is that the England striker will be Solskjaer’s first choice centre-forward for the coming campaign.
And ex-United man Kleberson, speaking exclusively to MEN Sport via YourPromotionalCodes, believes Lukaku may not suit Solskjaer’s way of playing — but would be a miss if he departs this summer.
He said: “If Romelu Lukaku is to leave the club, it will be a big loss for Manchester United.

“I’m a big fan of Lukaku, he’s a great player. When you think about coaching, everyone wants to take him, he is a very good player to have in the squad. Whether he starts games or is on the bench, he will always help the team to score goals. If he starts up top, you can play off him and help the midfield and other forwards to score more goals. He can also drift out wide and cause problems for defenders there, he killed Brazil in the game at the World Cup from doing this and he’s very unpredictable.
“I understand if Lukaku wants to leave and play more games. He didn’t start too many games for Man United last season.
“Strikers survive on goals and statistics, it’s tough. The season changed so quickly for him, if players prepare mentally in the preseason, he may find his feet again. I hope he decides to stay at Manchester United for one more year and proves his worth.”
Despite lauding Lukaku’s talents, Kleberson also believes that Rashford is a better fit for Solskjaer’s football and that it was shrewd business to hand the 21-year-old a lucrative new four-year deal.
“I’m a big fan of Rashford, he’s a great player,” added the former United midfielder.
“If Man United are looking for his style of play, then it’s a great signing (to give him a new contract). Every signing which offers pace to the team is important, especially after the last campaign with Man United not having a good season.
“This is a really big statement to go out and win silverware and try to achieve qualification to the Champions League. Of course, the league is still the most important goal for Man United and that is where they should always be aiming.”
