Manchester United are settling into their pre-season surroundings in Australia after arriving for the first leg of this year’s tour yesterday, but the future of Paul Pogba continues to overshadow preparations for the new season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his squad trained in Australia overnight ahead of their first pre-season friendly against Perth Glory. United will then take on Leeds United before travelling to Singapore to face Inter Milan.

Meanwhile, reports say Real Madrid are confident that Pogba will join them over Juventus, and are prepared to sell both James Rodriguez and Lucas Vazquez to raise the funds needed to afford the United man.

Pogba wants to leave United, according to his agent Mino Raiola, but joined his teammates for the pre-season tour. As well as Real Madrid, former club Juventus is a possible destination for the Frenchman. In terms of midfield replacements, United have been linked with Southampton’s Mario Lemina and Spurs playmaker Christian Eriksen.
