Justin Kluivert is being linked with a potential move to Arsenal this week. It is being suggested by Corriere dello Sport, as reported by The Mirror, that the Dutch winger could head to The Emirates as part of any deal that sees current Giallorossi loanee Henrikh Mkhitaryan head to Roma permanently.
Kluivert, the son of Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert, has been a Roma player for two years but it seems the Italian side does consider him potentially expendable this summer.
Indeed, a recent report from CalcioMercato suggested that Kluivert could head to Everton as part of any deal for Moise Kean to make a move to the Stadio Olimpico.
The common denominator appears to be Mino Raiola, who is the agent for Kluivert, Mkhitaryan, and Kean.
However, Kluivert would certainly appear interested in a move to Arsenal. At least, that would be the assumption based on comments he made in 2015.
Speaking to Helden in February 2018, as reported by The Sun, Kluivert admitted he would be keen on a move to a team of Arsenal’s prestige, however, he did also mention several other top Premier League teams.
“If you get a nice offer, you never know. England appeals to me: Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea or Manchester United are nice clubs where I can see myself playing in a few years.”
As far as Arsenal are concerned, if they can get a deal done which sees the aging Mkhitaryan leave and a bright young talent like Kluivert arrive this summer, then they have pulled off an absolute blinder.
