0 ECE 08 MAN UNITED FRIDAY - Romelu Lukaku arrives for Manchester United training as transfer talks continue

Romelu Lukaku was pictured driving into Manchester United’s training ground as he waits to hear about where he will be playing next season.

The Belgium international has yet to play any of United’s pre-season tour games and has agreed to join Juventus in a proposed swap deal involving Dybala but the deal hinges on whether the Argentinian agrees a transfer to United.

And while he waits for an update on his future he is continuing with his contractual obligations at Old Trafford including taking part in the club’s media day on Thursday where he had to pose for new commercial pictures for the new season.

Lukaku hasn’t played a minute of pre-season football due to knocks he picked up whilst on tour and didn’t travel with the squad to Norway to the 1-0 win against Kristiansund on Tuesday.

MEN Sport understands that despite Lukaku agreeing terms with Juventus, Inter Milan have not ended their interest having made the 26-year-old their number one target this summer.

United are still cautious about the prospect of signing Dybala and are continuing dialogue with Inter Milan on the off-chance they meet their £80m asking price for Lukaku. United also believe it is still possible Lukaku could end up staying.

It remains to be seen whether he makes the trip to Cardiff but it seems very unlikely given the current state of his transfer and that he has not played all pre-season.

Another face who was spotted arriving at Carrington on Friday morning was Alexis Sanchez. He was expected to be involved with the squad in Norway but was left behind after his involvement in Copa America this summer.

The game against AC Milan in Cardiff on Saturday could be his first pre-season involvement.

The squad travel to Cardiff on Friday ahead of their final pre-season game of the season with a 100 per cent win rate having beaten Perth Glory, Leeds United, Inter Milan, Tottenham and Kristiansund.
